Installation and configuration

1. Configuring Miner Credentials

To begin, initiate the software and select the “Set Miner’s Pwd” button.

Enter your username and password. The default values for both are “root”.

2. Setting up the Miner

You have the option to configure the URL of the mining pool, account, and password. Failure to set this information will result in the software only setting the IP address without configuring other details.

3. Initiate Scanning:

  1. Specify the “start target IP” to auto-fill the miner’s target address accordingly.
  2. Choose the network card within the same local area network as the miner.
  3. Click the “Start Probing” button. When prompted, press the IP-REPORT button on the miners.
  4. The software will automatically retrieve the miner’s IP address and MAC address, importing them into the software table.
  5. If the IP-REPORT button does not respond, users can utilize the “Skip” button to bypass the miner.
  6. Users have the option to add, delete, modify, and inspect the form as per their requirements.

4. Configuring Miners

Once all miners are configured in the table, the user clicks the “Configure IP” button. The software will search for any miners in the target IP that conflict with their IP, marking them in red and prompting the user for modification. If there are no conflicts, the user will be prompted to continue the setting process. Upon confirmation, the software will automatically send a command to modify the miner’s IP. If the modification is successful, the software will provide a prompt indicating successful completion; otherwise, it will notify the user of a failed modification attempt.

5. Export and Import

Users have the option to export or import table content based on their requirements. This software supports the import of CSV format files exported by Btctools.

Optimized Network Setup for Mining Farms

Set Miners Static IP Tools is a valuable tool for large mining farms. Proper network configuration is essential to improve the efficiency and security of your miners. Let’s look at several important points:

1. Network Segmentation

  • Using Subnets: Divide miners into different subnets for better management.
  • VLAN Setup: Use VLAN to separate traffic, which will enhance security.
  • Static Routes: Set up static routes for stable network operation.

2. IP Address Optimization

  • Static IPs for Critical Devices: Assign static IPs to servers and miners to prevent conflicts.
  • DHCP for Auxiliary Devices: Use DHCP for less critical equipment.

3. Network Rules and Security

  • Restrict Access: Limit access to miners to trusted IP addresses only.
  • Firewall Configuration: Use a firewall to protect the network.

4. Network Redundancy

  • Backup Routers: Set up backup routers and additional agents.
  • Backup IPs: Use backup IP addresses for critical devices.
